Caroline Allison is an artist based in Nashville who makes work that explores the landscape as a vehicle for our collective future history.
Born and raised in Atlanta, she is a 2022 recipient of the Individual Artist Fellowship from the Tennessee Arts Commission and a 2023 National Endowment for the Arts Distinguished Fellowship through Hambidge Center. In 2024 she debuted her fifth solo exhibit, "Waiting between Trees" with Zeitgeist Gallery and in 2021, her exhibit "Behind the Moon" received local praise and a Burnaway review. Her photographs have been included in exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including ZieherSmith (Nashville), David Lusk Gallery (Nashville), Howard Greenberg Gallery (NYC), Chicago Cultural Center, Daniel Cooney Fine Art (NYC), the Bronx Museum of Art, Lehmann Maupin (NYC), Momentum Gallery (Berlin), the University of Tennessee, and the University of the South.
Allison received her M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 1999 and her B.A. from The University of the South, 1994.
